Where the AIT6000 truly sets itself apart is in its role as a complete onboard navigation and connectivity hub. The integrated zero-loss VHF antenna splitter allows a single antenna to serve the AIS transponder, VHF radio and FM/DAB radio simultaneously without any signal degradation. A secure, password-protected Wi-Fi network streams AIS, GPS and full NMEA instrument data to up to seven devices concurrently via UDP and TCP/IP protocols, turning smartphones and tablets into fully capable MFDs through all major navigation apps on iOS, Android, PC and Mac. NMEA 2000, NMEA 0183 and USB interfaces make it the natural hub of any onboard electronics system, while built-in CPA and TCPA collision alarms, a depth-compensated anchor drag alarm, NMEA 2000 alert output and a switched sounder output deliver critical safety functionality even when no chartplotter is in use. Setup and alarm configuration are handled entirely through an integrated browser-based web interface — no software, no apps, no internet connection required.
